Itinerary Details

Day 1 – Arrive Singapore

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. After check-in, you’ll have time to get settled in and relax. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.

Note: If you wish to spend more time in Singapore, ask your Personal Vacation Manager about the optional hotel extension—which will add one night to your Singapore hotel stay.

Day 2 – Singapore

After breakfast this morning, depart for your full day Singapore city tour. You will visit the National Orchid Garden, located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Botanic Gardens boast a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants comprising of 400 species and more than 2,000 hybrids. We will then continue to Chinatown, passing fascinating temples and traditional turn-of-the-century shop houses. At Merlion Park you will learn about this iconic city sculpture while admiring the view of the city skyline. We will then visit the Skypark observation deck, located 57 stories above the city, atop the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel for breathtaking views. Our last stop before lunch will be at the Long Bar inside the fully restored historic Raffles Hotel for a taste of Singapore’s unofficial national drink that was invented here in 1915, ‘the Singapore Sling’. As the saying goes, “If you have not been to Raffles, you have not been to Singapore”. We will then sit down for lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 – Singapore to Siem Reap

This morning we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Siem Reap. Your Tour Escort will accompany the group to Cambodia. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and enjoy some free time before re-joining the group for dinner.

Day 4 – Siem Reap

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, begin your day by touring Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s ancient temple city and one of the wonders of the Oriental world. The awe-inspiring ruins survive as a testament to the spectacular achievements of Southeast Asia’s greatest civilization. Etched and carved in the temple facades are stories of Khmer epics and myths. The inside walls are adorned with stone images of celestial Apsara dancers. Angkor Wat’s five famous towers rise into the sky, a geometrical symbol of the peaks of Mount Meru. Take time to savor the intricacies and significance of Angkor Wat and witness a breathtaking sunset over the ancient ruins before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll tour the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, was a city of priests, military officials and residents of the Royal Palace. Pass through the South Gate, one of the four gates of Angkor Thom, before exploring the magnificent Bayon Temple. As you pass through the jungle, this sacred site emerges as one of the most impressive and mysterious temples. Visit the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of Leper King, courtyards of magnificent statues that date back to the 12th century. Then, continue with the visit of Satcha, the first Cambodian Handicraft Incubation Center where local artisans mix traditional knowledge with contemporary design to give Cambodian handicrafts a new dimension.

After dinner in a local restaurant, visit Angkor Night Market, the first and only true night market in Siem Reap. Finish your day by browsing an assortment of handicrafts, raw-silk fabrics, hand-made jewelry and custom art from over 100 vendors and shops. Perhaps, purchase a keepsake to remind you of your travels before returning to your hotel.

Note: While visiting the temples and ruins during days 4 and 5, please dress respectfully by covering your arms and legs. We suggest wearing loose, breathable pants and shirts with long sleeves or 3/4-length sleeves.

Day 5 – Siem Reap

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before visiting Ta Prohm temple. Swallowed by the jungle, Ta Prohm was a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of Jayavarman VII. The temple is cloaked in tree roots and moss, creating a poetic picture of nature reclaiming the ruins. We will then fully immerse ourselves in khmer culture with a visit to a village to discover the daily life of the local people before enjoying a traditional khmer lunch at the Bong Thom home stay.

This afternoon you will visit Banteay Srey and Banteay Samre temples. Banteay Srey is the fabled “Pink Temple of Women,” so-called because it is made of pink sandstone and a tribute to the beauty of women. Its small size, delicate carvings, and remarkable state of preservation make this temple one of the most revered. Dedicated in 987, Banteay Srey is also one of the oldest temples in the region.

At one time, Banteay Samre was no more than ruins lost in the forest, but anastylosis restoration has transformed it into one of the finest monuments of the Angkor group. Its ornamentation, exceptional quality and preservation makes it one of the best representations of classic art from the finest period in Southeast Asian history. This evening, enjoy a special dinner with a cultural dance performance. This Khmer traditional dance style has been a part of local culture since the 7th century and is famous for its exquisite costumes.

Day 6 – Siem Reap to Singapore

Enjoy a relaxing morning before transferring to the airport for your flight to Singapore. Your Tour Escort will accompany you on the flight. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure before rejoining the group for a farewell dinner.

Day 7 – Singapore Embarkation

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the port, where you will board the Celebrity Solstice for a 12-night cruise to Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

Ports of call include Ko Samui, Bangkok (Laem Chabang) (Overnight), Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My), Hue/Danang (Chan May), and Hanoi (Overnight), Vietnam

Day 19 – Hong Kong Disembarkation

Enjoy breakfast onboard, then disembark the Celebrity Solstice and meet your guide. We’ll start our tour with an incredible panoramic view of the city of Hong Kong. To reach this scenic vista point, we’ll take a funicular railcar up into the forests of Hong Kong Island to the summit of Victoria’s Peak. This area is surrounded by natural beauty, as well as Hong Kong’s most exclusive neighborhood. At an elevation of 1,800 feet, you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the city below. After descending the peak, we will then visit the Aberdeen Fishing Village, known for its picturesque harbor and seafood markets. Continue to a local market, where you’ll enjoy some time to shop for local handicrafts and souvenirs.

After an exciting morning of touring, we’ll rest our legs and treat ourselves to a popular Hong Kong lunch: dim sum. A traditional Cantonese style of eating, dim sum is a wonderful way to try a variety of local cuisine, especially steamed dumplings and buns. After lunch, visit the Wong Tai Sin Temple, a beautiful Taoist temple complex with gardens, pavilions and colorful architecture. We will then end our tour at the Jade Market before heading to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 20 – Hong Kong

Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Note: If you wish to spend more time in Hong Kong, ask your Personal Vacation Manager about the optional hotel extension—which will add one night to your Hong Kong hotel stay.

More Information

What to Know Before You Go

Physical Activity

The land portion of the trip should be considered active and includes a considerable amount of walking. Accessing the temples and ancient sites will require walking on uneven terrain.

Enrichment Journeys will do everything in our power to ensure comfort through our third-party providers, including air-conditioned buses and comfortable accommodations where applicable. However, some areas cannot be accessed by coach, so our drivers will get you as close to sites as is legally allowed. Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are strongly recommended. Historical sites often do not have elevators, escalators, or ramps due to the age of the building/structure. Steps can be steep and uneven. Based on crowds and traffic, order of visits may be changed. You may have to walk a moderate distance to transfer to coach stations and airport terminals. Time spent on the road and traveling can be long, so you will need to be prepared for stretches of down time in between destinations.

Wheelchair access at many sites is limited. A fold-up wheelchair may be able to be stored on the bus but requires prior arrangements. Guests must be able to transfer from their chair to the transportation. Guides/drivers are not allowed to lift or push wheelchairs, so guests requiring physical assistance must travel with a companion who can assist. Motorized wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this group program.

Airfare

Included airfare is from select airports only. To inquire about a different airport, please contact your Personal Vacation Manager.

Enrichment Journeys is committed to providing remarkable experiences at extraordinary value. As a result, airlines and routes are selected to maximize that value and may involve multiple stops and extended layovers versus non-stop or direct flights. Passengers wishing to utilize specific carriers, direct/non-stop flights, Business Class upgrades, or to extend their time in any of our beginning or ending destination cities may do so by contacting Enrichment Journeys and inquiring about the Custom Airfare Program. There is a $100 per person charge for this service, however this charge will be applied toward any flights or upgrades you choose to purchase. The $100 charge must be paid prior to receiving a custom air quote.

Passport and Visa Requirements

To travel internationally, you must have a passport in good condition, and it must be valid for at least 6 months after the last day of your trip. Visa requirements change frequently and for various reasons. As a result, our Personal Vacation Managers are not always able to provide visa information. The best way to obtain up-to-date information regarding visa requirements is to visit the official US government website for Americans traveling abroad, Travel.State.Gov (Canadian citizens should visit https://travel.gc.ca/, for all other countries please visit your government website or local embassy), which details specific information on the countries you would like to visit, including visa requirements. You may also use a third-party visa service, such as Expedited Travel. These services require an additional service fee but make the process of applying for a visa much simpler.

Customizing Your Journey

To extend a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your Journey, please speak to a Personal Vacation Manager for assistance in making those arrangements.

If you are interested in customizing your Journey, pairing it with a different cruise, or arranging a private tour for your party, you may be interested in our Private Journeys program. You can learn more about this program here, or speak to a Personal Vacation Manager for more information.
