Admire the Power of Gullfoss Waterfall
Gullfoss Waterfall is a stunning two-tiered waterfall in Iceland, renowned for its powerful cascade into the Hvítá river canyon, making it one of the country's most iconic natural wonders.
Greenland Awaits
Few travelers are able to claim a visit to Greenland, one of the world’s most remote destinations. During your cruise onboard the Azamara Quest, you’ll visit Qaqortoq and Nanortalik, where you can admire the landscape and learn about the local culture.
Explore Reykjavik
Wander through Reykjavík and discover a blend of colorful Nordic houses, modern street art and the striking Hallgrímskirkja church towering over the city. Along the waterfront, the Sun Voyager sculpture and Harpa Concert Hall offer stunning views of the sea and distant mountains.
Day 1 – Arrive Reykjavik
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure before joining your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.
Note: If you wish to spend more time in Reykjavik, ask your Personal Vacation Manager about the optional hotel extension—which will add one night to your Reykjavik hotel stay.

Day 2 – Reykjavik
After breakfast at the hotel, you will embark on one of Iceland’s most popular day tours – the Golden Circle. This sightseeing route has three stunning stops: Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir Area and Thingvellir National Park. Gullfoss, translated to ‘the Golden Waterfall’, is one of Europe’s most impressive waterfalls with thousands of tons of icy water thundering majestically into a deep canyon. The Geysir Area is filled with numerous hot springs, fumaroles and geysers, including Strokkur. Every 5 to 10 minutes Strokkur erupts, sending water 100 feet into the air.
The final part of the Golden Circle, Thingvellir National Park, is a remarkable geological and historical site; the beautiful canyon running through the park is the dividing Fault line between two of the earth’s tectonic plates. During the tour, you will also visit the family-run Friðheimar greenhouse cultivation center. Learn about the magic behind growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes and cucumbers with the aid of geothermal heat that Iceland has in abundance. An unbelievable fact that few people know is that Iceland is the only country in the world where tomatoes are grown year-round. After your tour around the Golden Circle, you will head to your hotel in Reykjavik and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Day 3 – Reykjavik
Today you will have the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik on your own. Stroll along Laugavegur, the main avenue, for shopping, traditional pubs and restaurants. Visit the Hallgrímskirkja Church, whose steeple is a Reykjavik landmark, or learn about the island’s history at the National Museum of Iceland. Or perhaps you’ll visit the Blue Lagoon (reservation required in advance) to relax in the warm, mineral-rich geothermal water. The day is yours to do as you wish! Your guide will be available in the morning to answer questions and provide recommendations.

Day 4 – Reykjavik Embarkation
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the port, where you will board the Azamara Quest.

Day 5-18 – Cruising onboard the Azamara Quest
Ports of call include Reykjanes, Iceland; Prince Christian Sound (Cruising), Qaqortoq and Nanortalik, Greenland; St. John’s, Newfoundland, Sept-Iles, Quebec, and Quebec City, Canada.

More Information
What to Know Before You Go
The land portion of the trip should be considered moderate. Guided tours may include a considerable amount of walking, while free time allows you to explore on your own at your own pace. Walking on different types of land, roads, stairs and being exposed to many different natural elements will be part of the trip. A few of the natural environments explored during this Journey are National Parks, waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs and beaches. Walking a moderate to long distance will be necessary to view natural wonders at certain locations.
Enrichment Journeys will do everything in our power to ensure comfort through our third-party providers, including air-conditioned buses and comfortable accommodations where applicable. However, some areas cannot be accessed by coach, so our drivers will get you as close to sites as is legally allowed. Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are strongly recommended. Historical sites often do not have elevators, escalators, or ramps due to the age of the building/structure. Steps can be steep and uneven. Based on crowds and traffic, order of visits may be changed. You may have to walk a moderate distance to transfer to coach stations and airport terminals. Time spent on the road and traveling can be long, so you will need to be prepared for stretches of down time in between destinations.
Wheelchair access at many sites is limited. A fold-up wheelchair may be able to be stored on the bus but requires prior arrangements. Guests must be able to transfer from their chair to the transportation. Guides/drivers are not allowed to lift or push wheelchairs, so guests requiring physical assistance must travel with a companion who can assist. Motorized wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this group program.
Included airfare is from select airports only. To inquire about a different airport, please contact your Personal Vacation Manager.
Enrichment Journeys is committed to providing remarkable experiences at extraordinary value. As a result, airlines and routes are selected to maximize that value and may involve multiple stops and extended layovers versus non-stop or direct flights. Passengers wishing to utilize specific carriers, direct/non-stop flights, Business Class upgrades, or to extend their time in any of our beginning or ending destination cities may do so by contacting Enrichment Journeys and inquiring about the Custom Airfare Program. There is a $100 per person charge for this service, however this charge will be applied toward any flights or upgrades you choose to purchase. The $100 charge must be paid prior to receiving a custom air quote.
To travel internationally, you must have a passport in good condition, and it must be valid for at least 6 months after the last day of your trip. Visa requirements change frequently and for various reasons. As a result, our Personal Vacation Managers are not always able to provide visa information. The best way to obtain up-to-date information regarding visa requirements is to visit the official US government website for Americans traveling abroad, Travel.State.Gov (Canadian citizens should visit https://travel.gc.ca/, for all other countries please visit your government website or local embassy), which details specific information on the countries you would like to visit, including visa requirements. You may also use a third-party visa service, such as Expedited Travel. These services require an additional service fee but make the process of applying for a visa much simpler.
To extend a hotel stay at the beginning or end of your Journey, please speak to a Personal Vacation Manager for assistance in making those arrangements.
If you are interested in customizing your Journey, pairing it with a different cruise, or arranging a private tour for your party, you may be interested in our Private Journeys program. You can learn more about this program here, or speak to a Personal Vacation Manager for more information.
